Mirrors That Work for Mirror Work
A curation of mirrors that make self-documenting feel intentional.
I have friends who work across a wide range of professions, from medical and veterinary professionals to highly analytical thinkers to deeply creative minds. I’m not saying this in a braggadocious or bougie way, but with real appreciation for how rare this has been for me especially considering where I was raised. The community I grew up in was made up largely of blue collar workers, educators and government professionals (DMV), so this kind of cross-industries relationship building is new to me.
Some of these friendships go back to childhood, others to undergrad, and some to my time in New York. And honestly…wow. Look at us. We did it.
It feels only right to tap into that and share it with you, since these relationships have enhanced my life in ways that allow me to enhance others in return.
In my most recent post, I wrote about mirror work and the quiet power of actually seeing yourself. This feels like the extension of that idea.
I was talking with a close friend of mine, Randall Jones - an incredible interior designer, mother, and human who was recently recognized for her work , and I shared something I see come up again and again with my clients at home: they’re often missing one of two things: a measuring tape or a full-length mirror.
If you’re able to purchase the type of clothing I work with professionally, there is likely a mirror within your budget. The real question is: how much have we been taught to prioritize actually seeing ourselves? And is looking at yourself fully and honestly really that indulgent?
Training the eye to see oneself does wonders. Not just for confidence, but for self-knowing.
After having my daughter, I felt deeply disconnected from my body. It felt foreign. My therapist once suggested I dance naked in front of the mirror, and while I love and trust her immensely, I almost died. I did it anyway, and I was forever changed.
I developed an appreciation and connection to my body again. An understanding not only of what my body looks like, but how clothing can and should fit on it. I have since trained my eye to guess anyone’s waist and shoe size, sometimes because I know my own body well enough to figure it out in relation, but also because it’s something I care about enough to really see.
This is now my hat trick and my superpower, something I am continually honing, because my body is changing as the days and years go by.
Style and self-documentation go hand in hand like a chef or home cook tasting the food as they go. In order to end up with the desired result, adjustments need to be made before food is plated and served and the same gooes for clothes. To be a good cook or develop one’s personal style, using the tools available to us thoughtfully makes us better.
Because I have her in my orbit, I tapped my interior-designer friend and asked her to help me source mirrors that would allow me and my clients to see ourselves better. Mirrors that make self-documenting feel intentional, pleasing to the eye, and supportive of real homes and real budgets.
She sent over a list. I found one immediately, added it to cart, and it’s already on the way. My pick is CB2 Infinity Mirror for a larger reflection and the West Elm Scallop for a mirror that also becomes art/furniture.
Below is a collection of mirrors, some sourced by her, some I found myself that support self-documentation, daily outfit reflection, and maybe even a little mirror work if you’re feeling froggy .
I grouped them by feel, not hierarchy. Choose what works for your space, your budget, and how you want to show up.
I know, that’s a lot right?
If you prefer everything in one place, Randall has this list saved here.
A quiet invitation from me to you….
If you add a mirror to your space, or already have one…for goodness sakes, please use it. Document your outfit. Check in with yourself. Or dance naked if you’re feeling disconnected and in need of a bit of bravery.
If you’re comfortable, I’d love to see what you choose.
No pressure. I’m just nosy…and rooting for you.

These are beautiful mirrors. And such an important message. When I made the decision to find my personal style I realized I also didn't have a full-length. I really had to question why. Now I have a totally different why. WHY I love looking at myself, putting together looks that make me feel good and communicate exactly what I want to communicate!
Brilliant selections 🪞
